waiting...

...for a couple of my programs to finish running. It seems like I never have enough CPU power. Or more likely, this is the price I pay for using Matlab (java based). I should go back to programming in fortran :) or at least something non gui'ish.

Got some great news this morning: There's going to be a showing of the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival here! Kick-ass... now I can get my fix of mountains (there's a severe shortage of them around here).

Dude, if you have some time and $$$, you gotsta head up to Mont Tremblant--it's super gorgeous. Maybe not the magnitude of mountains you're used to, but you can stay at the hostel in Val-David--it's an old ski lodge, and has a bar in the basement. It's sweet! (We stayed there on the road trip). Seriously. Just go. I know you wanna...

Yeah man, Java gui's are bad news!! You gotta ditch that sucker ASAP!! The only reasonable fast Java guis are made with SWT (a gui toolkit made by IBM that makes straight windows or x calls instead of doing it all with java).
PS Congrats on your first spam comment ;)
